Symptom characteristics:

Separation anxiety disorder most commonly occurs in children, but adults may also suffer from it. It is characterized by excessive anxiety, worry, and insecurity when separated from attachment figures (such as parents, partners, and children). Children with this disorder are afraid to go to school, worry about accidents happening to their parents, and are afraid to sleep alone. They may even cry, have headaches, and stomachaches when separated. Adults may show strong anxiety and controlling behavior when their partners are away or on business trips, such as repeatedly calling, worrying about their safety, and experiencing drastic mood swings. This discomfort of separation goes beyond the scope of normal attachment and is usually accompanied by
"Catastrophizing"—the fantasy that a major misfortune will occur if one leaves their partner—can, if it persists for a long time, impact a person's independence, interpersonal trust, and daily life. Separation anxiety isn't simply about loving someone too much; it's a psychological disorder caused by a lack of security, requiring gradual improvement through psychological support and cognitive reshaping.

Course Objectives:

This course aims to help participants identify the excessive anxiety, emotional dependence, and insecurity associated with separation from a close partner. Through emotional recognition training, cognitive restructuring, self-soothing exercises, and AI-supported transition exercises, participants gradually develop the inner conviction that "even in separation, I can be independent." It also incorporates music relaxation, Taoist breathing exercises, and daily mood tracking to enhance inner security and self-connection.

Lesson 31:Recognizing the root causes of separation anxiety

It’s not that you really can’t live without someone, it’s just that you are too afraid of losing them again.

Separation anxiety is an attachment wound, not a flaw in you.

Understanding it is the first step in taking care of your inner child.

Lesson 32:Redefine "safety" and "accompanying"Companion

Safety does not necessarily mean being "together", but inner peace.

True companionship does not mean being there all the time, but being understood.

You can slowly build up a sense of security that you are not dependent on others and are not alone.

Lesson 33:Regulating the urge to cling

Adhesion is not about too much love, but too much inner anxiety.

You have the ability to observe yourself instead of criticizing yourself.

Reducing attachment means giving yourself and your relationships more space.

Lesson 34:Develop a self-support system

Support doesn’t rely on one person, but a gentle safety net.

You can practice trust, and you can practice taking care of yourself.

At the heart of your support system is your ongoing focus on yourself.

Lesson 35:Practical preparation for the "moment of separation"

Saying goodbye does not mean losing, separation can also bring growth.

Every time you practice separation, you have an opportunity to rebuild trust.

You will find that the self who is afraid of separation can actually stand firm on its own.

Lesson 36: Healing Integration and Inner Reconstruction

You are not torn apart, but whole and can be put back together.

Reconstruction is not about starting over, but about starting over with experience.

The real healing is that you slowly take yourself back together.
