2. Recipe and Method
Recipe (1–2 servings):
- 10 g of Adenophora stricta
- 8–10 g of Ophiopogon japonicus
- 60 g japonica rice
- 850 ml of clean water
- 15g of lily bulbs (optional)
- A little rock sugar, optional
practice:
- Rinse the sand ginseng and ophiopogon japonicus quickly. Soak the lily bulbs in advance if you are using them.
- Rinse the rice thoroughly and put it in a pot.
- Add sand ginseng, ophiopogon japonicus, japonica rice and water to the pot.
- Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 35–40 minutes.
- If you want to add lily bulbs, add them when the porridge is half-cooked.
- Once the rice grains have opened up and the porridge has become smooth, the sand ginseng and ophiopogon japonicus can be removed.
- Add a small amount of rock sugar as needed, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
