Today, I want to gently approach you with the theme of: sunlight, walking, and emotional recovery. When feeling anxious and down, it's easy to stay indoors, reduce activity, and slowly disconnect from the outside world. It's not that you don't want to get better, but your body lacks energy, and your mind lacks space. However, the body needs gentle rhythmic cues, such as natural light, fresh air, and slow movement. These aren't magic cures, but they can subtly remind the nervous system: another day is unfolding, and I'm still alive. Today, we won't do high-intensity exercise, nor will we expect you to immediately perk up; just gentle contact. You can stand by the window and let the light fall on you for a minute; you can walk to the door and breathe in some fresh air; you can walk slowly around the house for three minutes; if conditions permit, you can also walk for five to ten minutes in a safe place. While walking, don't rush to think about life, and don't turn it into a new task. Just see a few things: a tree, a wall, a patch of sky, a beam of light, a moving shadow. Let your eyes and body escape the worries in your mind. Set your goals low, low enough that you're willing to try. Anxiety might say this is useless, and depression might say I don't want to move. You can gently reply: I'm not trying to get better immediately; I'm just sending my body a signal. Repeated small signals will gradually build up into a sense of stability. Remember, recovery doesn't always happen through deep reflection. Sometimes it's standing in the sunlight for a minute, taking a few slow steps along the roadside, and rediscovering yourself in the air. After reading aloud, please write down a short plan for sunlight exposure or a walk you'd like to try tomorrow; the shorter the time, the easier it is to begin.

○ Healing Recipe: Apple and Plum Salad: Before going out in the sunlight or taking a short walk, you can eat a little apple and plum salad. The apples are sweet and the plums are slightly sour, which can gently awaken the senses. It is suitable to eat in the morning or afternoon when you feel heavy-hearted. ◉ Japanese Food Therapy: Apple and Plum Salad

I. Recommended Dietary Therapy and Reasons

Recommended dishes:Apple and plum salad (mild and soothing)

Recommended reasons:This lesson combines sunlight exposure, a walk, and emotional recovery. Sweet and sour, refreshing side dishes are perfect for awakening the senses before heading out.

2. Recipe and Method

Recipe (1–2 servings):

  • Half an apple
  • 1 plum
  • A little lemon juice
  • A few drops of honey, optional
  • Optional: a small amount of perilla shreds

practice:

  1. Wash the main ingredients thoroughly. Prepare the parts that need to be peeled, sliced, or shredded by cutting them into small, easy-to-eat pieces.
  2. Apple slices are lightly tossed with plums, creating a refreshing sweet and sour flavor, perfect for a light meal.
  3. Keep the seasoning light, with less salt and sugar, and avoid using strong flavors that overpower the ingredients, making it easier for the body to accept.
  4. During the preparation process, you can slow down your movements and treat washing, cutting, boiling, and mixing as a small exercise to bring your attention back to the present moment.
  5. After serving, let it cool slightly to a comfortable temperature before eating to avoid putting extra strain on your body if it's too hot or too cold.
  6. Take your first bite slowly, savoring the aroma, temperature, and texture before letting your body decide whether to continue.
  7. If you have a poor appetite that day, you can eat a small amount. There is no need to force yourself to finish it. The key is to let your body know that you are being taken care of.

3. Small rituals for body and mind

When preparing an apple and plum salad, you can first arrange the ingredients neatly to see their colors, shapes, and delicate textures. This small action can help your attention gradually shift from anxiety, depression, or recurring worries back to the present moment.

While waiting for your food to finish, give yourself three slow breaths. You don't need to immediately explain all your emotions or solve all your problems; just let your body know that you are safe at this moment.

When you take your first bite, focus on the temperature, aroma, and soft texture. You can gently tell yourself: I'm taking care of myself; I'm willing to slow down; I can start over.

4. Dietary Therapy Experience Record

  1. Record the time of consumption: whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a meal to settle down after emotional fluctuations.
  2. Observe changes in stomach comfort, body temperature, mental stability, and mood intensity within 30–60 minutes after consumption.
  3. If you consume it on days when you feel particularly anxious or down, you can keep track of whether it helps you slow down or gives your body a greater sense of security.

6. Precautions

  • Dietary therapy should be done in small, light portions, and adjusted according to the body's reaction. It is not recommended to force yourself to finish a meal when you are feeling unwell.
  • If you are allergic to seaweed, soy products, eggs, fish, tea, or citrus fruits, please choose suitable alternatives.
  • Those with sensitive stomachs, pregnant women, those with chronic diseases, or those currently taking medication should prioritize following the advice of medical professionals and nutritionists.

○ Calligraphy and engraving therapy practice

This calligraphy and seal engraving exercise has no specific content and does not require perfect character formation. As you gradually cultivate resilience, focus your attention on holding the pen, placing the pen, pausing, and breathing, allowing the repetitive hand movements to slowly calm your nerves. Resilience comes from repeated small experiences; it doesn't need to be dramatic, just a willingness to continue moving closer to yourself. Please take it slowly. The focus of the practice is not on how many strokes you complete, but on retaining a reliable sense of stability in each stroke, gently accompanying yourself through today.

○ Art Therapy Guidance

Please draw a short walking path, adding lines of sunlight, tree shadows, or air movement along the sides. The picture doesn't need to be large; just express "reconnecting with the outside world." You can draw a small door at the starting point to represent moving from indoors to light. After finishing, remind yourself: I don't need to cheer up immediately; I just need to slowly reconnect with life.

Please log in before submitting your drawings and feelings.

May you gradually return to a more stable, clear-headed, and gentler version of yourself through today's practice.
