Today, I want to gently guide you through the topic of communicating symptoms with a doctor or counselor. Many people get nervous when seeking help, unsure of what to say, or afraid of exaggerating or being unclear. Please remember that clearly expressing your pain is not being dramatic or bothering others; it's about earnestly seeking support for yourself. To make communication smoother, you can write down a few points beforehand. First, how long have the emotions lasted? When do anxiety and depression typically become more pronounced? Second, have there been any changes in sleep, appetite, energy, or attention? Third, what physical reactions have you experienced, such as palpitations, chest tightness, stomach pain, headache, tension, or fatigue? Fourth, how has your life been affected, such as work, studies, relationships, housework, going out, or personal care? Fifth, are there any warning signs, such as intense despair, self-harming thoughts, impulses to harm others, or a feeling of insecurity? If so, please speak directly. Professionals need accurate information to help you more effectively. You can also bring a symptom observation form; it doesn't need to be perfect, just enough to show the pattern. During the communication, if you can't speak immediately, you can read what's on the paper or say: "I'm nervous, but I wrote some down beforehand." Please remember that therapy and counseling are not exams; you don't need to be eloquent to deserve help. You just need to be as honest as possible. Also, allow yourself to ask questions, such as what your current state might be, what risks you need to be aware of, how you can cooperate with therapy, and when you need emergency help. You have the right to understand your situation and the right to be treated gently. After reading aloud, please write down the three things you most want to say next time you seek help; let them serve as small preparations for speaking up for yourself.

◉ Japanese Food Therapy: Agar-agar Matcha Jelly
I. Recommended Dietary Therapy and Reasons
Recommended dishes:Agar-agar Matcha Jelly (Soothes Anxiety)
Recommended reasons:This lesson prepares you to discuss your symptoms with a doctor or counselor. A light tea jelly is suitable for helping to calm your mind before seeking help.
2. Recipe and Method
Recipe (1–2 servings):
- 400 ml of light matcha tea
- 2 g of agar powder
- A little honey, optional
- Optional: a small amount of red beans
- Optional: Very little grapefruit peel
practice:
- Wash the main ingredients thoroughly. Prepare the parts that need to be peeled, sliced, or shredded by cutting them into small, easy-to-eat pieces.
- The matcha soup is heated with agar jelly until melted, then cooled to form a jelly, maintaining a light flavor.
- Keep the seasoning light, with less salt and sugar, and avoid using strong flavors that overpower the ingredients, making it easier for the body to accept.
- During the preparation process, you can slow down your movements and treat washing, cutting, boiling, and mixing as a small exercise to bring your attention back to the present moment.
- After serving, let it cool slightly to a comfortable temperature before eating to avoid putting extra strain on your body if it's too hot or too cold.
- Take your first bite slowly, savoring the aroma, temperature, and texture before letting your body decide whether to continue.
- If you have a poor appetite that day, you can eat a small amount. There is no need to force yourself to finish it. The key is to let your body know that you are being taken care of.
3. Small rituals for body and mind
When preparing agar-agar matcha jelly, you can first arrange the ingredients neatly so you can see their colors, shapes, and light textures. This small action can help your attention gradually shift from anxiety, depression, or recurring worries back to the present moment.
While waiting for your food to finish, give yourself three slow breaths. You don't need to immediately explain all your emotions or solve all your problems; just let your body know that you are safe at this moment.
When you take your first bite, focus on the temperature, aroma, and soft texture. You can gently tell yourself: I'm taking care of myself; I'm willing to slow down; I can start over.
4. Dietary Therapy Experience Record
- Record the time of consumption: whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a meal to settle down after emotional fluctuations.
- Observe changes in stomach comfort, body temperature, mental stability, and mood intensity within 30–60 minutes after consumption.
- If you consume it on days when you feel particularly anxious or down, you can keep track of whether it helps you slow down or gives your body a greater sense of security.

6. Precautions
- Dietary therapy should be done in small, light portions, and adjusted according to the body's reaction. It is not recommended to force yourself to finish a meal when you are feeling unwell.
- If you are allergic to seaweed, soy products, eggs, fish, tea, or citrus fruits, please choose suitable alternatives.
- Those with sensitive stomachs, pregnant women, those with chronic diseases, or those currently taking medication should prioritize following the advice of medical professionals and nutritionists.

Mandala Viewing Healing
Before consulting with a doctor or counselor, you can look at a mandala to calm your mind. When looking at the center, organize your emotions; when looking at the outer circle, organize your sleep, appetite, physical reactions, and life's influences. You are not taking a test, but gently speaking up for yourself.

○ Calligraphy and engraving therapy practice
This calligraphy and engraving exercise has no specific content and does not require perfect character formation. When facing long-term rehabilitation requiring sustained support, please focus your attention on holding the pen, placing the pen, pausing, and breathing, allowing the repetitive hand movements to gradually soothe your nerves. Long-term recovery will have its ups and downs; please remind yourself in the repetitive movements that support can be built up little by little. Please take it slowly. The focus of the practice is not on how many strokes you complete, but on maintaining a reliable sense of stability in each stroke, gently accompanying yourself through each day.

○ Art Therapy Guidance
Please draw a communication preparation card, divided into sections for emotions, sleep and appetite, physical reactions, life impacts, and need for help. Use color or small icons to represent each section; you don't need to fill it completely. It will help you calm down before seeing a doctor or counselor. After drawing it, remind yourself: I'm not taking an exam; I'm speaking up for myself.
Please log in before submitting your drawings and feelings.

○ Diary Healing Suggestions
Please prepare a page for your communication with a doctor or counselor: how long have the emotions lasted, how is your sleep and appetite, what physical reactions have you experienced, how has it affected your life, and are there any risk signs? Just write it clearly; it doesn't have to be perfect. Finally, remind yourself: I am speaking up for myself.
Please log in to use.
May you gradually return to a more stable, clear-headed, and gentler version of yourself through today's practice.
