Feature description:
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a psychological disorder characterized by persistent, exaggerated, and irrational concern about one's own appearance. Patients often pay excessive attention to minor defects in one or more parts of the body, such as skin, hair, nose, or body shape, and have severely distorted negative cognitions of these defects, even exaggerating them to the point of extreme ugliness. This constant focus causes patients to engage in compulsive behaviors such as repeatedly checking the mirror, frequently comparing their appearance with others, over-modifying, covering up, or frequently seeking plastic surgery in an attempt to relieve their inner anxiety and uneasiness, but often with little effect, or even aggravating the symptoms. Patients usually find it difficult to control these behaviors, and often develop a deep sense of inferiority and shame, which leads to avoid socializing, escaping from the real living environment, and gradually affecting their studies, work, interpersonal relationships, and daily functions. The following is a body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) written strictly in accordance with the word count requirements.
Teaching objectives:
Help patients clearly identify the specific parts of their appearance that they are overly concerned about and their negative cognitions, and deeply understand the psychological factors behind the formation of symptoms; through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), teach patients to identify and adjust irrational cognitive errors related to appearance, such as exaggerating their own defects, catastrophic thinking, and excessive focus on others' evaluations; guide patients to master exposure and response prevention training (ERP) methods, and gradually reduce compulsive appearance checking, concealing or comparison behaviors; improve patients' self-esteem and self-acceptance, and cultivate a more positive and objective body image; through auxiliary therapies (such as mirror exposure and role-playing), improve patients' self-confidence in social situations, and ultimately achieve long-term stable mental health and good social adaptability.
Course Schedule:

Lesson 107:Understanding the Nature of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
You are not "obsessed with appearance", but your focus is magnified by your inner anxiety.
Body dysmorphic disorder is not vanity, but a real psychological distress.
It’s not you who is misunderstood, but the world’s obsession with “perfection”.

Lesson 108:Identifying cognitive misconceptions about body dysmorphic disorder
The mirror doesn't tell the truth, but the mind creates the illusion of anxiety.
The "flaws" you see are not the same as how others see you.
Once the cognitive misunderstanding is exposed, anxiety loses its root.

Lesson 109:Reduce body checking and comparison behaviors
Every time I keep checking, I am only reinforcing the belief that I am not good enough.
Comparison will not make you beautiful, it will only steal your security.
You can practice looking out at the world outside the mirror instead of being trapped in the anxiety within it.

Lesson 110:Develop a positive body image and self-acceptance
Your body is not meant to be criticized, but rather a vessel for you to experience life.
Self-acceptance does not mean ignoring flaws, but rather no longer denying your complete self.
You don't need to change your appearance to have inner peace.

Lesson 111:Managing Social Anxiety and Body Dysmorphic Disorder
The fear of being seen is often because you have already "denied yourself" in your heart.
Instead of avoiding it, try to stand up honestly and with uneasiness.
Social anxiety cannot be solved with a perfect appearance, it can only be soothed with authenticity and gentleness.

Lesson 112:Long-term relapse prevention and mind-body balance program
Committing to taking care of yourself is your deepest source of strength.
Not pursuing extremes, nor belittling, is a new balanced attitude.
Relapse prevention is not about vigilance, but about practicing living in peace with yourself.
