Today's topic, which I want to gently approach you with, is: Over-vigilance and Emotional Exhaustion. You may find yourself becoming very sensitive lately. A single word, a glance, a message, a voice, or even a sudden notification can make you tense. You're already exhausted, yet you still can't relax. Even after lying down at night, your body feels like it's still on duty, and your mind is constantly checking for danger. Please understand, this isn't because you're intentionally overthinking, nor is it because you're too fragile. Prolonged anxiety and depression can put your nervous system into a state of over-vigilance, as if you're constantly standing guard at the door, afraid that something bad will happen next. But if someone is constantly guarding like this, both their body and mind will be exhausted. Exhaustion isn't failure, but a natural reaction after prolonged exertion. Today's exercise isn't about immediately achieving complete relaxation, but about giving your nervous system a new signal: it's safer now. Slowly look around and name three things you see, such as a table, a window, and a cup. Then listen to your surroundings and name two sounds. Then feel where your body is in contact with the ground, a chair, or clothing. You can gently press the soles of your feet into the ground, reminding yourself: I am here, and the ground is supporting me. Next, say to your body: "Thank you for protecting me. Now I can rest for three minutes." Overly vigilant people often need their environment, body, and words to be soothed together. You can prepare a low-stimulation corner for yourself: soft lighting, quieter sounds, a safer distance from your phone, and a glass of water or a blanket nearby. Spending just a few minutes there each day is fine. Please remember, you don't need to be on guard every moment, and not every signal represents danger. You can gradually teach your body that there are other ways to survive besides being tense. After reading aloud, please write down one signal that makes you easily alert, and then write down one small action that can help you reduce your alertness slightly.

AI Healing Q&A

○ AI Healing Q&A: When you are always alert, sensitive, and unable to relax, you can tell the AI which sounds, information, expressions, or relationships have recently made you tense. The AI will help you identify the defensive state of your nervous system and guide you to do grounding exercises such as seeing three objects, feeling the soles of your feet, and slowly exhaling, so that your body knows that it can be less defensive at this moment.

○ Music therapy guidance

○ Music Therapy Guidance: When feeling overly alert, choose music with simple sound layers and no sudden changes. Keep the volume low to let your body know the environment is safe. While listening, look at three stable objects around you, and place your feet firmly on the ground. Each time the melody repeats, tell yourself: "I can be less on guard now."

○ Chrysanthemum and Goji Berry Tea: When feeling overly alert, experiencing eye strain, or experiencing tension in the head, brew a cup of chrysanthemum and goji berry tea. Chrysanthemum is refreshing and soothing, while goji berries are gentle, making it a good way to gradually calm the body from a state of heightened alertness. ◉ Japanese Dietary Therapy: Carrot Dashi Soup

I. Recommended Dietary Therapy and Reasons

Recommended dishes:Carrot juice soup (hydrating and bowel-regulating)

Recommended reasons:This lesson focuses on emotional exhaustion following excessive vigilance. Mild soups are suitable for hydrating the body, providing a sense of warmth and security, and telling the nervous system that it's okay to be less defensive at this moment.

2. Recipe and Method

Recipe (1–2 servings):

  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • Kombu juice 700 ml
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: a small amount of soft tofu
  • Optional: Very little chopped green onion

practice:

  1. Wash the main ingredients thoroughly. Prepare the parts that need to be peeled, sliced, or shredded by cutting them into small, easy-to-eat pieces.
  2. Simmer carrots over low heat until soft, preserving their natural sweetness without adding any strong flavors.
  3. Keep the seasoning light, with less salt and sugar, and avoid using strong flavors that overpower the ingredients, making it easier for the body to accept.
  4. During the preparation process, you can slow down your movements and treat washing, cutting, boiling, and mixing as a small exercise to bring your attention back to the present moment.
  5. After serving, let it cool slightly to a comfortable temperature before eating to avoid putting extra strain on your body if it's too hot or too cold.
  6. Take your first bite slowly, savoring the aroma, temperature, and texture before letting your body decide whether to continue.
  7. If you have a poor appetite that day, you can eat a small amount. There is no need to force yourself to finish it. The key is to let your body know that you are being taken care of.

3. Small rituals for body and mind

When preparing carrot juice soup, you can first arrange the ingredients neatly so you can see their color, shape, and light texture. This small action can help your attention gradually shift from anxiety, depression, or recurring worries back to the present moment.

While waiting for your food to finish, give yourself three slow breaths. You don't need to immediately explain all your emotions or solve all your problems; just let your body know that you are safe at this moment.

When you take your first bite, focus on the temperature, aroma, and soft texture. You can gently tell yourself: I'm taking care of myself; I'm willing to slow down; I can start over.

4. Dietary Therapy Experience Record

  1. Record the time of consumption: whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a meal to settle down after emotional fluctuations.
  2. Observe changes in stomach comfort, body temperature, mental stability, and mood intensity within 30–60 minutes after consumption.
  3. If you consume it on days when you feel particularly anxious or down, you can keep track of whether it helps you slow down or gives your body a greater sense of security.

6. Precautions

  • Dietary therapy should be done in small, light portions, and adjusted according to the body's reaction. It is not recommended to force yourself to finish a meal when you are feeling unwell.
  • If you are allergic to seaweed, soy products, eggs, fish, tea, or citrus fruits, please choose suitable alternatives.
  • Those with sensitive stomachs, pregnant women, those with chronic diseases, or those currently taking medication should prioritize following the advice of medical professionals and nutritionists.

Mandala Viewing Healing

When you are overly alert, look at a mandala with clear boundaries and stable repetition. Let your eyes slowly move along the edge of the circle, feeling that the pattern does not change suddenly. After each circle, exhale gently, telling your body: "I can be less guarded now; I am in a safe space."

○ Calligraphy and engraving therapy practice

This calligraphy and seal engraving exercise has no specific content and does not require perfect character formation. When feelings of threat and hopelessness arise, focus your attention on holding the pen, placing the pen, pausing, and breathing, allowing the repetitive hand movements to gradually calm your nerves. Fear and hopelessness both deserve to be gently acknowledged; there's no need to rush to judge right or wrong, just stabilize your body first. Please take it slowly. The focus of the exercise is not on how many characters you complete, but on maintaining a sense of reliable stability in each stroke, gently accompanying yourself through today.

○ Art Therapy Guidance

Please draw a safe little house with boundaries. Use dense lines outside to represent external sounds, information, and stress. Inside, place only three things that make you feel safe, such as a water glass, a blanket, and a light or plant. Gradually reduce the density of the lines as you draw, allowing your body to feel the alarm level decreasing. Finally, draw a soft border at the doorway, symbolizing that you can be less vigilant at this moment.

○ Diary Healing Suggestions

Please record three moments today that alerted you, such as a particular sentence, sound, message, or facial expression. Then write down your body's reaction at the time.
